Update - Support Your Local Theatre

Posted: Nov 1, 2015
Category: Announcements

Please support local theatre in our appearance before QW City Council.

Hello all,

We have to go to City Council to prove to the city that the theatre is an important part of Quinte West in order to get financial assistance and re-open.

The Trent Port Historical Society will be presenting a business plan, proposal of use and a description of how the theatre will benefit the community.

You are all invited to join us on Nov. 16. Please check out the Facebook page of the Trenton Town Hall- 1861 for further information.

Greetings to all and thank you for visiting!

The Bay of Quinte Community Players (formerly My Theatre) is located in the heart of downtown Trenton and is the only community theatre operating in the Quinte West area. Its roots can be traced back to the early 1950s where plays were performed in gymnasiums and rented halls. The theatre has now found a permanent home and is located in the beautifully restored Trenton Town Hall 1861 and operates in conjunction with the Trent Port Historical Society.

The theatre’s decor celebrates a time long past. Upon entry, patrons are treated to rich velvet curtains accented with gold tassels, maroon walls and glass chandeliers. Raised seating provides an excellent view for an intimate audience of seventy-five. A “state of the art” sound and lighting system adds to an ultimate evening of theatrical pleasure.

So please feel free to browse. Check out our current season and past productions. If you have the acting bug from high school, look up our audition dates. If you have a few hours to donate building or painting sets, taking tickets, or wish to learn more about sound and lighting, give us your info on the volunteer page. After all, we are “your” community theatre.
